  • I absolutely love Nexus! It is such an amazing church with amazing people. Pastor Jon is the best pastor anyone could ask for. Coming from other churches that were bigger and the pastor never really seemed like they could talk to you or had time to breathe, Pastor Jon is opposite and cares for everyone. The sermons are great and every time I've gone I have taken something from that sermon and applied it to my everyday life. It is full of love for each other and such a love for God. I hope to be there for a long time.

  • Nexus Church is the most real, most loving church I've ever been to. I grew up in church and I have to say that Pastor Jon is the greatest preacher in the world! The worship is incredible and the every ministry in the church is top notch. They despise religion and exalt Jesus! I travel back and forth from Miami but I'm able to stay up to date with everything with the Nexus App! I can't imagine anyone going to another church in the Kansas City area. If you haven't got a chance to go to Nexus, drop everything your doing and check it out, you won't regret it!

    This is such a pity.

I had followed Nexus around for a little bit before they settled in their permanent location and was so pleased with what I was learning, relevant things that applied to my everyday life! Far from the grueling hours spent at other church's that seemed dry and didn't seem relatable.

But During service one day we were all listening to the pastor teach and he made some backhand comments that disturbed me. First he said some islamiphobic things. Saying that Islam "is a violent religion" ect. I would hope that he would provide proof if he was going to make a statement like that but he just went on and on. I brushed it off thinking it would be a one time thing but he has also made comments about Buddhism. You don't need to hate on other religions in order to promote your own. He proudly boasts that he has "no filter" and that he is proud to be "politically incorrect."

The last thing that's bothered me is another one of his comments about how if "people don't agree with him" then they can get up and leave because they can just get more people in there to fill the empty seats. Disturbing. Of course you can't please everyone but every individual is important.

We'll see if I decide to go back because the quality of service is great, I truly learn a lot and their outreach is admirable but if something happens again I'll guess they'll just have to find someone "to fill my seat."
